As agriculture is the most vulnerable to the effects of changing climates, farmers can testify that the impacts such as droughts, extreme temperatures, hail, floods, and permafrost are occurring more frequently and intensely.

Pest control
We make sure control measures are being taken by the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development on the oriental fruit fly and polyphagous shot hole borer and locusts for example.

Veld fires
Recent veld fires in the Free State, Northern Cape and North West provinces destroyed more than 1000 000 hectares of grazing in 2021, with farmers losing large numbers of livestock and infrastructure by the fires.
